Our client is a specialized fruit and vegetable trading organization with a strong position connecting Spanish growers with buyers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Austria. Based in the Alicante region, the organization operates through fixed programs, contract-based trade, and long-term relationships with growers, wholesalers and other professional buyers.
The organization operates without its own physical inventory or transshipment facilities. Its strength lies in market knowledge, direct lines of communication with growers, and the efficient organization of trade flows between supply and demand. The compact team fosters an informal and entrepreneurial culture, with a great deal of freedom, short lines of communication, and room for initiative.
Functieomschrijving
We are seeking a Trader for a specialized produce trading company on the Spanish east coast. In this role, you will be responsible for both the purchasing and sales of fruits and vegetables, and you will independently build and maintain relationships with existing and new clients, primarily in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Austria.
Our client mainly works with fixed programs and contract-based trading and focuses on long-term relationships with growers, wholesalers, fresh-cut companies and other professional customers. You will join a compact and entrepreneurial team, where there is plenty of freedom and initiative is highly valued.
What will you be doing?
• Buying and selling fresh produce
• Maintaining and expanding relationships with growers, suppliers and customers
• Setting up and developing fixed programs and commercial projects
• Actively developing new customers and accounts
• Managing pricing, quality, availability and logistics
Functie-eisen
• Experience in the produce trade
• Preferably experience in both purchasing and sales
• Commercially minded, independent, and entrepreneurial
• Proficiency in Spanish
• Additionally, proficiency in Dutch, German, and/or English
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
• An independent sales role with a great deal of freedom;
• Based in the Alicante region
• Working within a small and informal team;
• Competitive base salary, potentially supplemented by a bonus or commission
• A partially hybrid working arrangement can be discussed
