The company is recently launched vertical urban farm. It has the capacity to grow significant volumes of herbs, leafy greens, some vegetables and fruits in their highly advanced TCEA vertical farm based in Berlin, Germany.
The company is a subsidiary of a long established who’s DNA is steeped in the grocery sector. Real estate funds operated by the Group own c.100 supermarkets across Germany giving the company a unique, unparalleled access to the Group’s German grocery relations and footprint.
Operating from Berlin in a property owned by the Group, the company has just finished the installation and testing of a highly advanced vertical farming system developed by IGS – worldwide market leaders in TCEA.
The company now plans to dramatically increase production, expanding distribution to existing clients while benefiting from the group’s sector relationships to build a large long term customer network.

Therefore, an experienced Cultivation Chef/Operations Manager is sought to revamp operations in Berlin. There’s a lot to be addressed and improved, from seeding and cultivation to harvesting and logistics. Additionally, the sale of the harvested products to local Berlin supermarkets and retail stores is not well established yet. The main cause is the lack of a clear overview of the current production costs of harvested vegetables and herbs. However, the primary priority for the selected candidate is to significantly increase the current low production as quickly as possible.
Stellenanforderungen
The ideal candidate for this highly challenging position must have demonstrable knowledge and experience in vertical farming. They should be a proactive individual who knows exactly what it takes to increase production. From seed procurement to optimal cultivation and harvesting, they have the overview, knowledge, and mentality to significantly improve everything. This requires strong persuasive skills, so a decisive communicative approach is necessary. In addition to demonstrable knowledge of a relatively young branch in agriculture through education (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) and proven experience, they must be willing to live in the dynamic metropolis of Berlin or its immediate surroundings. Knowledge of German and/or English is highly desirable for this role. This is a unique international position where you can apply your knowledge, experience, and energy. Vertical farming is relatively young but evolving rapidly, offering considerable future prospects. In Berlin, you can develop both professionally and personally quickly.
